Veganism is the only moral way of eating and living, consisting of a diet completely cruelty free. Among other things, veganism strictly forbids the use of animal products including the wearing of their hides; an example of this is leather.
However, there are many misconceptions about veganism with the main point of confusion being centered around ex-vegans. Ex-vegans do not exist and before you jump to the conclusion that veganism is a cult you can never leave, that is not what I am trying to communicate. If you identify as “Ex-vegan”, you were never one at all and you were only consuming a plant-based diet. Veganism is a permanent lifestyle, meaning the naming of Vaganuary is incorrect as it should be moved to another month and named Plantober. This is as veganism cannot be committed to temporarily and the naming of Veganuary being highly inappropriate.
Another misconception is that vegans care more about animals than humans. This is simply incorrect and borderline slander. Unlike the many species of the world, we care about issues surrounding humans and other species with equal thought. Furthermore, a true Vegan does not advocate for violence. Vegans are against violence of any kind regardless of if it is directed upon humans or animals. Anyone who claims to be a vegan but additionally advocates for violence is NOT vegan.
Finally, we have to talk about Vegetarians. They are the scum of the earth. At the very least, carnists admit that they are slaughtering animals. Vegetarians still contribute towards the prolonged suffering of others. Vegetarianism is NOT a step towards Veganism. You either go Vegan, or stay speciest. With impending ecological collapse, veganism is the only way for humanity to survive. We were never meant to eat meat, and never should. Save the planet, Go Vegan!
